There was a great contingent from Lucan Harriers in Clontarf for both the Half Marathon and 5 Mile races. fit4life used these races as one of their focus races for the summer and the large numbers reflected this. The weather was hot but some cloud came in half way through the race giving some slight respite from the hot conditions. The Half Marathoners reported that the sand section along Dollymount Strand was tough as the sand was tougher than normal. We had a first timer in the Half Marathon – Amanda Drury and five first timers in the 5 Miles – Aoife Bradley, Mary Wallace, Jenny Garland, Mary Wheeler and Amanda Breen. First home for Lucan Harriers in the Half Marathon was Sinead Fleet in 2.17.25. First home in the 5 Mile was Fiona McGovern in 49.51.
In addition Josephine Dignam completed the trilogy of Wicklow 10k, Wexford 10k and Clontarf 5 Mile.
